Friends,

Chair, Trustee Development Committee
Thank you for supporting Penn and being part of our vibrant, interconnected community. These connections are the lifeblood of our University, and they are an important part of what makes Penn such a distinctive place. Here, first-year students form lifelong friendships, researchers collaborate across disciplines, and partnerships with communities and businesses bring new ideas to life. In short, Penn is where new perspectives come together to spark discovery and shape our future.
This issue highlights just a few of those connections in action. An interdisciplinary approach is driving progress across the University: The new Penn Climate initiative brings together expertise from every field to develop innovative climate solutions; researchers are adopting more agile models that integrate advances in AI and help us adapt to a changing funding landscape; and the Computational Social Science Lab uses large-scale data to address complex societal challenges. You’ll also see how visionary philanthropy is helping to make this work possible.
Thank you again for your continued support of Penn. I look forward to seeing you at an event soon!
Sincerely,
Wendy Holman, W’97
