Ways to Get Involved

Reunion Volunteers reconnect with classmates, inspire them to come back and give back, and celebrate milestone reunions at Alumni Weekend. Roles include:

  • Reunion Giving Chair

The Reunion Giving Chair(s) serves as the champion(s) for their Class Giving Committee. In partnership with the Class Giving Director, the Chair(s) recruits volunteers, strongly encourages classmates to join them in giving back, develops solicitation strategies, mobilizes or hosts Pre-Reunion events, and leads committee meetings.

  • Benjamin Franklin Society (BFS) Chair

The Benjamin Franklin Society (BFS) Chair(s) serves as the champion for leadership annual giving solicitations and multi-year commitments. The BFS Chair(s) facilitates solicitations of classmates at the BFS level or above and ideally makes a leadership-level, multi-year commitment of their own.

  • Scholarship Chair

The Scholarship Chair serves as the champion for scholarship giving, and identifies and solicits classmates to create or enhance gifts of Endowed Scholarships.

  • Participation Chair

The Participation Chair leads efforts to secure gifts of any size to support reunion fundraising efforts. The Chair will reach out to classmates through social media, phone calls, and emails to secure gifts at all levels.

  • General Committee Member

Most committee members will encourage their classmates to come back and give back in whatever way feels most comfortable. Members attend committee meetings, may host Pre-Reunion events, and champion for the class gift during their reunion year.

Penn volunteers don’t have to wait for a reunion year to get involved. Opportunities include:

As a volunteer for The Penn Fund, you are an ambassador and you lead by giving back, reflecting on your ‘why’ and sharing your Penn story to make connections with fellow alumni. Volunteers also stay connected by promoting key dates like Homecoming, Giving Red & Blue Day, Alumni Weekend, and Commencement; staying informed through Penn publications; and knowing giving opportunities to The Penn Fund.
