Penn Dental Medicine

As the critical link between oral and overall health becomes more evident, Penn Dental Medicine clinicians and scientists are pioneering innovations that will transform dental practice and remove the barriers that prevent people from receiving the care they deserve.

The Power of Penn Dental Medicine Campaign produced seismic changes in our ability to fulfill our mission of transforming global oral health and well-being. The School substantially renovated its teaching and patient care spaces, increased its endowment for financial aid, and launched several important new ventures. This work positions us to lead on many fronts. As we embark upon the next phase for Penn Dental Medicine, we will improve our understanding of oral disease prevention and continue to identify barriers for patients in our community and around the world in order to make oral health accessible for all.

Highlighted Priorities

  • Increase Financial Aid: The cost of a dental education remains very high. New scholarship resources will help to attract top candidates from all backgrounds.
  • Advancing Research, Policy, and Practice: Our new centers—Center for Integrative Global Oral Health, Center for Innovation and Precision Dentistry, Care Center for Persons with Disabilities, and Center for Clinical and Translational Research—and other promising scientific endeavors have the potential to revolutionize oral health. Support is needed to fund innovative people and projects, including students with an interest in research.
  • Support Professional and Global Outreach: Our alumni are lifelong learners. Providing access to the latest evidence-based science for oral health researchers and practitioners all over the world has been and will remain a priority at Penn Dental Medicine.
