Amid the coronavirus outbreak, people are connecting digitally in more ways than ever before. In response, Penn has provided additional online educational and career networking opportunities as part of a newly created database of virtual and digital resources.
Through Penn’s Online Learning Initiative, alumni can take courses from any of the University’s twelve schools to continue their educational pursuits and advance their professional goals. The program includes many options for learning, including full degree programs, continuing education units, specializations, and fast-paced skill-specific courses. Alumni can visit the Faculty Lecture Archives for more casual instruction, housing many thought-provoking discussions with some of Penn’s top faculty and visiting speakers.
Penn has also made available their archive of Career Tools, featuring online webinars that offer career counseling and strategies for advancement. These webinars were created to help alumni navigate challenging moments in their careers and seek advice on topics such as overhauling their resumes, strategic networking, or negotiating their salary.
As Hoopes Wampler, Assistant Vice President for Alumni Relations said, “Despite the isolation imposed by social distancing, we want our alumni to know that we are here for them at this difficult time. As so many members of our community and society face job insecurity and financial challenges arising from COVID-19, we hope that highlighting these educational and career networking tools, will bring some hope as well as help to alumni seeking to advance their personal and professional goals.”
